A taut, incisive wine from a cool site defined by clay-limestone soils, the 2021 Couhins delivers aromas of sweet cherries, cassis and new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate built around tangy acids and chalky tannins. Right now, its structural spine is in the foreground, but I suspect élevage will be kind to it.
49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot
