Ordering FAQ's

What happens after I submit my order request?

You will receive an automated email confirming we have received your order. If you have paid by card, the wine will be dispatched to you as soon as it is ready. Some wines are immediately available, whilst others may take around 4 weeks. En Primeurs may take up to 2 years or so (see below).

How can I pay?

Most wines can be paid for via secure card payment at checkout. We accept Visa or Mastercard. Alternatively, we will email you our invoice for payment by bank transfer or secure card payment link.

Why are there two prices for each wine?

The 'In Bond' price only applies to orders which are to either remain in bonded storage or are for export outside the UK. For all other orders, please select the 'Duty Paid' price, as we are obliged to charge UK duty and VAT on wines delivered out  of bond.

What does 'In Bond' mean?

Wines stored in a Customs regulated Bonded Warehouse may have Duty and VAT suspended indefinitely. The Duty & VAT will become payable, at the prevailing rates, once the wine leaves Bonded status. Duty is added to the In Bond price and then VAT is applied to this total.

What does 'En Primeur' mean?

En Primeur wines are sold as 'Futures'. The stock is ordered and paid for pre-shipment. Bordeaux En Primeurs are typically delivered approximately 2 years after the vintage. Other regions timescale vary. En Primeur prices are 'In Bond'. Duty and VAT will be due when the wine is ready to deliver.
